Art Ideas Blog Three: How to make 3D Scrabble Art
The third entry in our creative blog series #artideas is a fun little 3 step craft project perfect for all ages.
Here's a simple yet effective craft that makes for the ideal Christmas, Valentine's Day or Birthday Gift!
What you will need:
• 1 sheet of A4 paper (any colour or design)
• Double-sided sticky tape (glue works just as well)
• Scissors
• Old Scrabble pieces (make sure you ask permission to use them!)
• A4 Single Gallery Frame
Step 1:
Work out what you want your message to be. Try to pick words that connect with each other, as if you’re playing a game of Scrabble! We chose the words “I love you” with a *kiss* at the end, but the beauty of this art attack is that you can tailor your message for any person or celebration that you like.
Step 2:
Using the scissors, carefully cut pieces of double-sided sticky tape no wider than the Scrabble pieces you are using (don’t worry if you don’t have any double-sided sticky tape; glue will also do the trick!). Place the tape onto the back of the Scrabble pieces and then stick them onto your A4 paper, spelling out the words of your message.
Step 3:
When you’re happy with your message and how it looks, slide the finished piece into your A4 Single Gallery Frame, and there you have it - a simple, striking crafts idea that you can use for any occasion and takes no more than fifteen minutes! You could even use your favourite saying or song lyric as your message.
Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be a ‘Word’ of Art!
